Igor Fellipe Araujo de Sousa

Igor joined Aroeira Salles in March 2010 as a trainee for the Brasília team by performing research activities and drafting petitions for proceedings before the Higher Courts, Audit Courts and the Federal Courts.

In the academic area, he was the Director of Legal Affairs of CADIR – Academic Center of Law, University Center of the Federal District – UDF, from June 2010 until July 2011. Subsequently, from August 2011 through July 2012, in addition to acting as a Secretary-General of the Central Directory of Students (DCE), he was the representative-general of the UDF students at the University Law Course Collegiate Course with voting rights in the deliberations of aforementioned collegiate.

After completing his law degree at Processus College, he qualified as a lawyer at the firm in July 2013.

Igor is experienced in advising on actions of administrative improbity, legal actions for collection and monetary correction, indemnification actions and annulment of decisions of control bodies. Before the Federal Court of Accounts, he has great experience in proceedings relating to Special Audits, Audit Reports and Representations.

Igor also represents private companies and consortia in judicial and administrative proceedings before the Federal Court, Higher Courts as well as public and control bodies related to basic and heavy infrastructure contracts (road works, railways, airports, oil & gas, and urbanisation infrastructure).

He has an active practice representing clients in proceedings before the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Accounts and the Higher Courts by conducting oral defences and meetings in the offices of the judges, aimed at strengthening the main points of the cases put by the firm, by highlighting  the rights and interests of the clients, thus enabling faster analyses and decisions.

He is currently a member of the OAB / DF’s Anti-Corruption and Compliance Legislation Commission and the OAB / DF’s Control Body Advocacy Committee.
