Marina Hermeto Correa

Marina has been part of the Aroeira Salles team for more than 15 years. Initially, Marina representing companies in the import and export business, mechanical components manufacturers and infrastructure companies in respect of judicial and administrative litigation. She became a partner of the firm in 2005 and she has implemented the systematisation of the procedures for monitoring of judicial actions by aiming at optimising the judicial litigation procedures.

Marina worked as an intern in the legal department of Mannesmann Inc. and she began her career as a sole practitioner as soon as she graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).

Together with partners Alexandre Aroeira Salles, Francisco Freitas de Melo Franco Ferreira and Patrícia Guercio Teixeira Delage, she is a member of the Management and Remuneration Board of Aroeira Salles.

Marina’s areas of expertise include litigation, with advisory and monitoring of the production of legal defenses and administrative appeals arising from Environmental Infringement Notices before environmental agencies, thus avoiding or extinguishing penalties and lawsuits as well as negotiation of counterparts with environmental agencies and the follow-up of negotiations with environmental agencies relating to Environmental Commitment Agreements and with the Public Prosecutor’s Office relating to Conduct Adjustment Commitments.

Marina has been lead partner on a number of cases for important clients including Odebrecht, Andrade Gutierrez, Queiroz Galvão, Camargo Corrêa, Mendes Júnior, Construcap, ARG, Fortaleza de Santa Terezinha Agriculture and Livestock, Potencial Bank, Construtora Brasil, Via Engenharia (Via Engineering Co.), Triunfo, Direcional, KTM, Consita Tratamento de Resíduos, Aterpa, Fidens, Barbosa Mello, Torc, Pavotec, Egesa and Tratenge.
