We are delighted to announce that Vera Innes has joined the firm as Of Counsel as of June 2023.

Vera’s addition to the firm will strengthen our position in the international market and provide invaluable assistance to our clients in gaining a better understanding of the Brazilian context. Her extensive experience and expertise in Brazilian corporate and business law, will enable us to support clients in navigating the complexities of conducting business in Brazil and provide tailored guidance to address their specific needs.

Vera obtained her law degree with a specialisation in Corporate law from the University of São Paulo. She is a qualified lawyer in England and Wales, Portugal, and Brazil. 

She has been living in London since 1993 and has worked as a partner for a major Brazilian international law firm with offices in the British capital. From there, she has advised clients in transactions taking place in Brazil, ranging from the purchase of stakes in Brazilian companies to energy related projects. Her experience of the Brazilian legal scene and sound advice on Brazilian matters has been instrumental to many companies’ structuring of their legal presence and continued businesses in Brazil. 

Vera has throughout the years spoken extensively about Brazilian corporate and energy law as well as acted as an expert witness on matters involving Brazilian law in the London courts. 

She is a respected figure in the London based Brazilian business community, where she heads the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain, an entity dedicated to fostering the trade and investment relations between Britain and Brazil. Through her role, Vera promotes various areas of interest in Brazil and the UK, from energy to agribusiness and Fintech.

She speaks and works in English, French and her native Portuguese. She has conversational knowledge of Spanish, German and Italian.
